"The Swedes have had a remarkable history of blending brass instruments into their traditional dance music, especially during the 70s-80s folk revival in Europe. At the center of the maelstrom were bands like Filarfolket and Groupa and the brass innovations of Anders Rosen, Sten Kallman and Thomas Ringdahl. Here they are joined by four other equally well travelled horn players to form an unusual all-brass ensemble that uses ancient folk, European classical music and a bit of jazz and pop-rock to create a sound both funky and formal.
